Great homes for sale in Cobb County can be found amidst historical homes and new construction – beautiful detached homes as well as well kept condominiums and town homes.

County services is among the best a home owner could wish for – they are very organized and I found them to be very responsive in the couple of years I lived in Cobb.

The county is always a marvel of updating and improving their services and roads it is a real pleasure to see how government can be part of the improvement on its residents lives.

I have a dear friend who is a long time resident of Smyrna, one of the many fine towns within Cobb Co. and when I come to visit, he often reminds me how good his tap water is.

Another friend and almost life long Cobb County resident is always very appreciative for the great education her two daughters received at Walton High School: the oldest has already gone to college and then finished her MBA as well; the youngest is in beginning internship in Medical school – I think that says a lot :-)

One of the fiercest and most decisive battles of the Civil War was fought there: Kennesaw Mountain Battle.

Today this beautiful mountain, which is visible from most points of Cobb, is national park – and it is one my favorite places to go to meditate and unwind: I am quite sure that you will enjoy it there as well.

Up to our days Civil War artifacts findings is not an unusual thing.

Business Strength

There are many major employers in the area include Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and WellStar Health System, as well as hundreds of other businesses of all sorts, including more then 20 international firms.

One of Metro Atlanta’s economical centers of gravity is the intersection of I-75 and I-285 –Cumberland-Galleria area features 29.4 million sq./ft of office space according with a 2009 Cobb Co study called Powers Ferry Master Plan. It is the 4th largest submarket in Metro areas and it is sometimes called the “Platinum Triangle”

Both Georgia Senators have offices amidst this stellar environment Sen. Saxby Chambliss has four regional offices and the one at the Galleria building is his northern Georgia office.

I lived in Vinings in the middle 1990 and it was already a great place to call home. But it was mostly a quite place, except for the train horn during the night…

In the intervening years I have witnessed the blossoming of one of the most vibrant living and business hub.

Many companies have established a strong base in burgeoning Vinings: Home Depot – the giant do-it-yourself chain, has its headquarters here.

Not by coincidence I chose a nice real estate company that was based in Vinings when I first got licensed as an agent – I think this neighborhood is a world class area to live and work.

Just a stone throw away is Smyrna where Cobb county homes for sale has been a prime destination for young folks and first time homebuyer due to the high standard of living, superb shopping, convenience to work and moderate prices make this area a great options to buy a home.

The Cobb County School System which I discuss below is also a major job creator in the county.

Through shrewd administration, smart planning and fiscal conservative policies Cobb County has been for the past ten year in a row a member of a very select group that includes less than 1 percent of counties nationwide to have achieved a Triple AAA credit rating.

Education: Two School District Of Excellence

Cobb County Education k/12 is under the stewardship of two distinct school systems: Cobb County and Marietta City School districts.

As the second-largest school district in the state and the 24th largest in the country (AS of Spring/2012), the Cobb County School District consists of 112 schools.

The Cobb County School system has been honored with a variety of awards, including Georgia School of Excellence as well as Blue Ribbon School designations.

The City of Marietta has its own, albeit smaller system, consisting of eight schools is equally impressive and, in some measurements, shows even higher achievements than the county as a whole.

The school system is the second International Baccalaureate (IB) World School district in Georgia and is home to four Georgia Schools of Excellence and one National School of Excellence.

Higher education opportunities – within the county – abound:

• Life University – that has mellowed somewhat a few years back but it is still an excellent school (…and boy! Do they know how put a beautiful Christmas Light Show every year! You must see it!),
• Chattahoochee Technical College: It is an excellent two-year state technical college alternative
• Kennesaw State University that is quickly expanding and claiming its place as one of the most important academic center in Georgia
• Southern Polytechnic State University – among the finest in our “tech” system.
• Marietta College - a home grown campus since 1835

Cobb County is home for some of the Southeast’s largest amusement parks, including exciting allure year-round.

Your alternative will very from the opera at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, free family entertainment in the square and a great Fourth of July alternative

Besides the chain restaurants [hey, nothing against it – now and then I too dine at McDonald’s :-)] there are over 500 restaurants listed in Cobb – some of them ought to be to your liking!

It is one of the areas in Metro Atlanta that offers more variety of non-chain – it is a marvel of individually owned restaurant business – just do a google search – you to will be happy with the wealth of choices that will pop up on your screen

One of them is one of my favorite eating whole in the Metro ATL area is the Bay Breeze Seafood Restaurant.

Sushi notwithstanding, the majority of seafood served in restaurants –as well as those prepared in supermarkets – is over cooked.

Not at Bay Breeze: They know how to do it right every time!

Even their leftovers [I almost forgot to mention Bay Breeze’s portions are generous] are delicious and if you do not over heat it will still be “just right.”

Now you know why I – and some of my friend – may drive 30 miles (one way) to dine there.
